Are you missing any website visitors?
Your brand new website is up and running… And know what? You need to get people to know your new piece of art. Leading visitors to your website can be one of the difficulties when you are starting in the online world. Let’s see how we can overcome this first obstacle!
-
Set monthly objectives and an action plan to analyse your website visitors.
The first thing you have to do is to set monthly goals. These goals must be SMART: specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, time-bound. Make sure that you write your goals down and get back to them at the end of each month so you can check if you have achieve it or not. A goal for your website could be:
I am going to increase my website traffic by 20% through 4 blog posts and social media marketing by the end of March.
You should also elaborate an action plan to support this goal.
To follow this example, you can see that I decided to publish 4 blog posts to attract more website visitors and also I am going to promote these 4 posts on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.
This is just a mere example, but you should try to be as specific as possible with both your goals and your action plan so you can make the most of them.
-
Combine your website with social media.
If you spread your massage through your social media channels, it will be more likely that potential clients, that don’t know your website yet, will get to know your services.
That’s why I always say that you should elaborate a marketing plan and focus on the different types of marketing that you are going to implement in your business; social media marketing can be one of these types, whereas your website can form another category within your marketing plan.
Also, if you build a loyal community in your social media channels, you will be able to promote your services to a greater audience and therefore increase the number of website visitors.
-
Work on your SEO and the main search engines.
SEO (Search Online Optimisation) – I will probably write about SEO later on so I will keep it brief:
- Choose the keywords that you think your clients will be likely to use in order to find your services and make the most out of them. If you are targeting website visitors that speak different languages, make sure that you do the same in all your languages.
- Create quality content that is relevant to your audience.
- Personally, I use WordPress SEO by Yoast. It’s very user-friendly and it lets you know which parts of your SEO you should improve. If you are using WordPress, give it a try!
- Use Google Analytics to analyse the results of your current SEO techniques and act accordingly.
-
Write a blog and give away free content.
A blog is a powerful tool to drive visitors to your website. It helps you to rank higher in the different searchers if you work on your SEO in every post you publish.
Also, providing free content of interest for your audience is a good strategy to make new website visitors and potential clients click the link of your website.
It is also the perfect moment to showcase your expertise and show your website visitors your knowledge within your specialisations.
-
Use email marketing to promote your website.
Encourage your audience to subscribe to your newsletter. You can use it to provide more content or offers and deals to your most loyal visitors. Your subscribers are one of your most valuable assets, because they make the effort to subscribe to your newsletters, therefore, they will be likely to come back to your website again. Pamper them!
I will explain in more details every and each of these points! But now, I’d like to know if you implement any of these strategies to increase the number of visits of your website. Does it work for you? Do you use other methods? I’d love to hear from you!
Reminder: During March, I have set a poll on my Facebook page where you can vote for your favourite content of this blog. Vote now so I can get to know what type of content you want me to talk about!

Thanks David for a great post! I wish there was a print button for this article. I’m curious to see how others like Yoast SEO plugin because I have it now but I don’t really like it. There is another one called All-in-one SEO that I was thinking of trying out next.
You’re certainly right about having to set monthly objectives.
