How Feedly boosted my social media marketing
I’m sure that by now you all know Feedly. For those of you that are not familiarised with this tool yet, Feedly is a RSS aggregator. What? In other words, you can gather all your favourite webs and blogs in this tool to read all the new posts that their authors are publishing. Very useful if you want to be always informed about any specific topics. Keep on reading to make the most of this tool!
Feedly – The basics
- Create an account.
It’s as simple as going to Feedly home page and select “Login”. I always sign in with my Google account. But it’s completely up to you. You can also use your Facebook or Twitter details to sign in… And that’s it! You are ready to start reading.
- Add content to your feed.
Let’s take this blog as an exmple: if you want to add it to your feed on Feedly, you will have to copy the link of the website “http://www.circalingua.com”, click on “add content” and paste it.
Then you will be able to see the feed of the website you have chosen. In order to add it to your Feedly feeds, you will have to click on “+feedly” and then on “add”.
One of the features that I like the most of Feedly is that you can divide the content you add by categories. This way, you will be well informed of everything in the different categories that you want to read. For example, these are the categories that I created for my account.
Now you can start reading all the content that you want!
- How can Feedly boost your social media marketing?
Once you have all the content ready in your feed. It will be automatically updated. That means that if you have added my website on your feed and I have published a new post, you won’t need to go to my website to read it, you can do it directly from Feedly. This will save you a lot of time when you look for content to share in your social media channels.
- Share content on Social Media. Feedly allows you to share content in multiple social media channels. The ones I use the most are Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Google+. In addition, if you have an account on Buffer or Hootsuite, you will be able to share the content on all this social media channels at the same time. Imagine how much time you can save!
- Organise your content to offer the best variety to your readers. If you know what type of content you want to share on you social media channel, create different categories for each type of content you want to share and schedule your tweets or posts to offer variety to your followers.
- Get the mobile app and read as you go! Every morning that I have to take the bus, I catch up with all the updates on my feed. It’s very useful and user-friendly. You can save the content that want to read on your laptop for later and you can even share content from your mobile.
- Do you use Google Chrome or Firefox? Then you can get the Feedly extension to easily add content to your feed.
- Have you got a blog? Then encourage your readers to add your blog of Feedly. It’s a good way to build a community of bloggers that will read every post you publish.
- Use of key words on your blog. If you write a blog, people will be able to find you through the Feedly searcher. Let potential reader find you on Feedly! Also, they will be likely to share your content through Feedly.
